concept & philosophy
One of the worst things that can happen to an artist is to “lose” their talent : their voice, their ability to dance, to write, speak in public, to portray a role on stage. The feeling that is often described to me is that of “amputation” - a loss of something so personal and individual that one feels as though a part of the body were missing.
To a professional who has previously made money from this and enjoyed the psychological benefits of success, the results of such a crisis can be crippling. Not only does one have to contend with financial hardship, very often taking on demoralising work, but one seems to lose the respect of one´s peers and feel ostrasized from a milieu in which one was formerly established.
The result is often predictable - doctor´s appointments, referrals, a multitude of opinions concerning one´s state, and endless soul - searching. Confidence, a fickle companion at the best of times, now seems to vanish completely and with it all hope of recovery. Depression can set in and unhealthy patterns establish themselves with ease.
I offer an holistic coaching approach enabling creative artists to help themselves out of such situations, give them increased self-awareness and understanding of their talent and its relationship to them.
I do not provide help with medical conditions.
